Potentially over 150 farm animals will need a new forever home in late November

We were recently approached about a property on the south side of Brisbane where over 150 farm animals; including pigs, sheep, goats, geese, ducks, chickens and turkeys may have been abandoned.

We visited the property to find the animals in a satisfactory physical condition, however, their enclosures were run down and filthy.

As of next week (4 November 2019) we, and another couple of Qld rescue groups, will be caring for these animals for up to three weeks before we can begin to re-home them.  We estimate this is going to cost the sanctuaries around $2500 for this first four weeks.  To help cover and reduce these costs we are asking for donations of money and/or food (fruit, vegetables and hay).

$ Donations can be made by:

  • clicking on our donation button (please put CF BSSR) in the comments if you donate via this method;
  • direct via PayPal using the email address info@crankysfarm.org.au; or
  • direct deposit to our account (again please reference CF BSSR and use the contact button to let us know about your donation)
    • BSB: 484799
    • Account: 123797384
    • Name: Cranky’s FARM

Physical donations of food (fruit, veggies and/or hay) can be:

  • dropped off at Acacia Ridge or Ferny Hills (please use the contact button above and we will send you the actual address); or
  • picked up in the Brisbane area (please use the contact button above and we will arrange a pick-up)

If you can offer one or many of these animals a home please get in contact with us using our contact button or by emailing us @ info@crankysfarm.org.au.

Please see our recent Face Book posts for further information about this massive re-homing project!

**UPDATE 4/11/19**The animals on the south side property are being cared for by their owner for at least the next two…

Hi , my name is Peter and I live in Brighton Brisbane.
I have 2 red chickens who need a new home. They are good layers but have lead poisoning and their eggs are no longer safe to eat. I would like them to have a new home to free run and live out the rest of their lives happily.
    Could you please assist me?
    Kind regards Peter Robbins.
