Be Part of Bunny’s Rescue Story
🐐 Bunny’s Story
On 4 October 2025, we were contacted by our friends at Happilly Heifer After, who had received a call from a kind woman seeking help for a tiny baby goat she had rescued just days earlier. As always, when an animal is in need, we stepped up to help — and that’s how little Bunny came into our care.
When we collected Bunny, we were told she had been abandoned in a timbered area in western New South Wales, lethargic and calling out to a mumma who never came. Thankfully, a caring family found her, took her in, and brought her all the way back to Queensland in the hope of finding her a safe future.
We took Bunny straight to the vet for a full health check. At just 2.7 kilograms and approximately one week old, she was thankfully given a clean bill of health — a huge relief considering her rough start to life.
That first night was a little worrying. Bunny refused to latch onto any of the bottle teats we offered, which is always concerning for such a young and fragile baby. However, after a very early morning dash to find alternative teats (and a few rounds of trial and error), we’re thrilled to share that Bunny is now drinking well — around 200ml every five hours and growing stronger by the day.
Our plan for Bunny is to raise her until she’s safely weaned. Once she’s old enough, we’ll determine whether she’ll be best suited to join our main Cranky’s FARM herd or be rehomed to a carefully selected, loving home where she can continue to live a happy, natural life.
Right now, though, Bunny is entirely our responsibility — and we are fully committed to giving her the best possible start. Providing proper nutrition, warmth, comfort, enrichment, and veterinary care all come at a cost, and this is where our wonderful community can make a real difference.
If you would like to be part of Bunny’s journey, please consider becoming one of her sponsors. Even $2 a week helps us ensure she has access to everything she needs to grow big, strong, and healthy.
