Penny

UPDATE:

We are so pleased to share that Penny and Peach, the two beautiful cows who were preparing to join us here at Cranky’s FARM, have instead found a safe, loving forever home near Stanthorpe. They will now live happily on 100 acres of pasture, surrounded by a small herd of pet cattle, where they will enjoy the companionship, space, and care every cow deserves. While we were excited to welcome them to our sanctuary, we are overjoyed that they have found such a wonderful place to call home.

**************************

Penny’s life began in the shadows of Australia’s feedlot industry — born into a world where animals are seen as commodities, not individuals. She was just a newborn when she was rescued from a transport truck alongside a small group of other vulnerable calves, their tiny bodies marked by painful burn wounds and trauma.

Only Penny and one other calf, Peach, survived.

For some time, Penny and Peach have been living on a small block in rural Queensland. There, they slowly began to heal and grow, but the arrangement was always temporary. With no permanent home and no future plans in place, they were at risk of being advertised for sale or giveaway — a devastatingly common path that often leads young animals straight into the slaughter pipeline.

Thankfully, just in time, we were contacted — and we said yes.
