UPDATE:
We are so pleased to share that Penny and Peach, the two beautiful cows who were preparing to join us here at Cranky’s FARM, have instead found a safe, loving forever home near Stanthorpe. They will now live happily on 100 acres of pasture, surrounded by a small herd of pet cattle, where they will enjoy the companionship, space, and care every cow deserves. While we were excited to welcome them to our sanctuary, we are overjoyed that they have found such a wonderful place to call home.

Peach’s story is one of survival, trust, and the hope for a future full of peace.
Born into the harsh conditions of Australia’s intensive beef industry, Peach was just days old when she was pulled from a feedlot truck — her tiny body covered in raw, painful burn wounds. Along with a small group of other calves, she was taken in by a kind-hearted person who promised to give them a second chance at life.
But the road ahead was far from easy. Despite that early act of compassion, only Peach and one other calf, Penny, survived. For a while, they were kept on a small rural property — growing stronger, but still with no secure future in sight.
That’s when Cranky’s FARM was contacted. Peach’s temporary carer could no longer keep her, and the risk was growing that Peach would be given away or sold into an uncertain future — like so many young cattle in rural areas. A future that, more often than not, ends at the slaughterhouse.
We couldn’t let that happen.
