Rocky has been part of our sanctuary family for a few years now, and he’s such a gentle, beautiful soul. Since his arrival, we’ve been keeping a close eye on his inner eyelids, which each year—especially during the hotter months—become red and swollen.

Recently, we noticed something more concerning: a prominent, slightly protruding spot developing. We had the vet attend to check Rocky’s eyelids, and they agreed it’s time to take action. Rocky now needs surgery to remove his inner eyelids before it becomes life-threatening.

For white-faced cattle like Rocky, this is sadly all too common. Their lack of pigmentation around the eyes makes them highly vulnerable to cancer developing on the inner eyelids. If left untreated, this cancer can spread quickly, causing pain, blindness, and eventually death.

💔 Our finances are already stretched to breaking point. Although we hoped we’d never be in this situation, without urgent community support we will have to postpone Rocky’s surgery. Waiting could have devastating consequences for him, and we don’t want to take that risk.

We want to give Rocky the very best chance at a long, happy life. Surgery is his best option—and may save his life—but we can only make it happen with your help.
